Our opinion

This old mill offers a rare diversity of experiences and potential uses within a geographical area that is both bucolic and economically dynamic.

  1. This diversity of experiences is primarily based on the unique feature of the flow of a small river: the right bank, accessible from the Dahlenheim road, offers a park that can be either garden-like or rustic; the left, forested bank is connected by two bridges equipped with a system of 4 locks, crossing a small “Île de la Cité” in a typical almond shape.

  2. The buildings offer various styles and usage opportunities: the main building features spacious rooms, high ceilings facing the river, and varied views; the old factory building has great renovation potential: opening large windows would make it a modern home in a peaceful setting, unless it returns to an agricultural or industrial use.

  3. The geographical location also allows for quick access to some of the region’s key economic hubs such as Molsheim or Marlenheim – and of course Strasbourg – not to mention good restaurants. While the domain's vegetation offers privacy, the mill remains a gateway to the world.

Restaurants and services

From Strasbourg: Take the A351 towards Furdenheim. At the lights, turn left toward Molsheim/Scharrarbergheim (D30). Leave the village and take the D225 towards Scharrarbergheim. When you spot a small hill and a left curve, take the road to Dahlenheim (a bit hidden), then go downhill: the mill is at the entrance of Kirchheim.

From Molsheim: Take the D422 north, then the D220. Then head toward rue de Dahlenheim.
